* kernel: backport support for "linux,rootfs" in DTRafał Miłecki2022-11-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This DT property allows marking flash partition that Linux should use as a root device. It's useful for devices that don't use U-Boot and cmdline parser for partitioning. It may be used with "fixed-partitions" or some dynamic partitioning based on flash content. Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <rafal@milecki.pl> (cherry picked from commit d33e49857e3ad76586ebe55334996b15cd45ca1b)
* kernel: mtd: backport extended dynamic partitions supportRafał Miłecki2022-10-271-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This gets rid of "nvmem-cells" limitation. Dynamic partitions can be defined for any (sub)partitions layout. Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <rafal@milecki.pl> (cherry picked from commit 4eda414b09c790344e47c1cebe78e5433b4dc10d)

* kernel: 5.10: consolidate mac80211 crypto optionsSergey Ryazanov2021-12-171-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Each of - CRYPTO_AEAD2 - CRYPTO_AEAD - CRYPTO_GF128MUL - CRYPTO_GHASH - CRYPTO_HASH2 - CRYPTO_HASH - CRYPTO_MANAGER2 - CRYPTO_MANAGER - CRYPTO_NULL2 either directly required for mac80211 crypto support, or directly selected by such options. Support for the mac80211 crypto was enabled in the generic config since c7182123b9 ("kernel: make cryptoapi support needed by mac80211 built-in"). So move the above options from the target configs to the generic config to make it clear why do we need them. CC: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name> Signed-off-by: Sergey Ryazanov <ryazanov.s.a@gmail.com>
* kernel: filter out both Clang and LLD versionsSergey Ryazanov2021-12-171-1/+0
| | | | | | | | Both CLANG_VERSION and LLD_VERISON are autogenerated runtime configuration options, so add them to the kernel configuration filter and remove from generic and per-target configs to keep configs clean. Signed-off-by: Sergey Ryazanov <ryazanov.s.a@gmail.com>
* pistachio: drop Kernel 5.4 supportPaul Spooren2021-11-0714-1239/+0

* pistachio: Take bootargs from device treeHauke Mehrtens2021-11-021-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The boot arguments are copied into the device tree by the boot loader and taken from the device tree by the kernel. The code which takes the boot arguments from the different sources was reworked with kernel 5.5. We have to activate CONFIG_MIPS_CMDLINE_DTB_EXTEND to take the boot arguments from the device tree. This makes the system boot on the board again. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* pistachio: Make kernel 5.10 patches applyHauke Mehrtens2021-11-026-94/+37
| | | | | | | Make the patches apply on kernel 5.10 and refresh the patches and the kernel configuration on top of kernel 5.10. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* pistachio: Copy kernel 5.4 patches to 5.10Hauke Mehrtens2021-11-0215-0/+1240
| | | | | | | This just copies the patches and the configuration from kernel 5.4 to kernel 5.10. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* pistachio: Fix FIT image configuration nameHauke Mehrtens2021-11-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | The pistachio U-Boot expects a default configuration with the name config@1 in the FIT image. The default was changed in OpenWrt some months ago. This makes the board boot again. Fixes: 9f714398e060 ("build: use config-1 instead of config@1 as default") Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de>
* kernel: move two symbols to the generic kconfigsRui Salvaterra2021-08-291-2/+0
| | | | | | | CONFIG_RCU_{NEED_SEGCBLIST,STALL_COMMON} are set basically everywhere. Move them to the generic kconfigs. And resort the generic kconfigs while at it. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* treewide: switch the timer frequency to 100 HzRui Salvaterra2021-04-211-2/+0
| | | | | | | | Some targets select HZ=100, others HZ=250. There's no reason to select a higher timer frequency (and 100 Hz are available in every architecture), so change all targets to 100 Hz. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* treewide: remove redundant ubifs kconfig symbolsRui Salvaterra2021-04-211-4/+0
| | | | | | | For the targets which enable ubifs, these symbols are already part of the generic kconfigs. Drop them from the target kconfigs. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* kernel: add pending mtd patches adding NVMEM supportRafał Miłecki2021-03-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | It's meant to provide upstream support for mtd & NVMEM. It's required e.g. for reading MAC address from mtd partition content. It seems to be in a final shape so it's worth testing. Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <rafal@milecki.pl>
* treewide: remove execute bit and shebang from board.d filesAdrian Schmutzler2021-03-061-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So far, board.d files were having execute bit set and contained a shebang. However, they are just sourced in board_detect, with an apparantly unnecessary check for execute permission beforehand. Replace this check by one for existance and make the board.d files "normal" files, as would be expected in /etc anyway. Note: This removes an apparantly unused '#!/bin/sh /etc/rc.common' in target/linux/bcm47xx/base-files/etc/board.d/01_network Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* kernel-5.4: bump to 5.4.102 and refresh patchesJason A. Donenfeld2021-03-041-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | 5.4.102 backported a lot of stuff that our WireGuard backport already did, in addition to other patches we had, so those patches were removed from that part of the series. In the process other patches were refreshed or reworked to account for upstream changes. This commit involved `update_kernel.sh -v -u 5.4`. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This drops the shebang from all target files for /lib and /etc/uci-defaults folders, as these are sourced and the shebang is useless. While at it, fix the executable flag on a few of these files. This does not touch ar71xx, as this target is just used for backporting now and applying cosmetic changes would just complicate things.
