Copy and refresh patches and config from 5.4 to 5.10. Most patches
require no more then automatic refresh. The only exception is the
Ethernet driver patch, which requires some more work:
* drop eth_change_mtu() usage since it was removed from the kernel,
it anyway useless for drivers that utilizes alloc_etherdev();
* add the txqueue number argument to the .ndo_tx_timeout callback
function;
* replace ioremap_nocache() which was finally removed from the kernel by
the ioremap() with the same behaviour.
Switch target to the new kernel version.

The target config require some refresh due to the just introduced
filtering of the "run-time" options, MIPS eBPF JIT backporting, and so
on.
The configuration is easily updated using make kernel_oldconfig. So
let's update it now in preparation for v5.10 support to reduce the new
kernel configuration diff.

ath25 requires a 88E6060 driver to support boards such as Fonera 2.0g
(FON2202). The swconfig based mvswitch driver has not yet been ported to
the 5.10 kernel as the only user is the ath25 target while all other
targets have been switched to the upstream DSA implementation.
Switching ath25 to the DSA implementation is a complex task, since we
need either per-board platform data or DTS support. ath25 lacks both of
them and builds only a single generic image. So we need to keep the
swconfig driver implementation to easly and quickly port ath25 to the
5.10 kernel.
Since porting the mvswitch driver to 5.10 as a generic driver is not an
option, and since the ath25 is its only user, make mvswitch a target
specific driver to be able to port it to the 5.10 kernel as part of the
kernel version update of the target. This will allow us quickly migrate
to the next kernel version and not delay the next firmware release.

CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE=y is already set in the generic kernel
configuration, but it is not working for MIPS on kernel 5.4, support for
MIPS was only added with kernel 5.5, other architectures like aarch64
support FORTIFY_SOURCE already since some time.
This patch adds support for FORTIFY_SOURCE to MIPS with kernel 5.4,
kernel 5.10 already supports this and needs no changes.
This backports one patch from kernel 5.5 and one fix from 5.8 to make
fortify source also work on our kernel 5.4.
The changes are not compatible with the
306-mips_mem_functions_performance.patch patch which was also removed
with kernel 5.10, probably because of the same problems. I think it is
not needed anyway as the compiler should automatically optimize the
calls to memset(), memcpy() and memmove() even when not explicitly
telling the compiler to use the build in variant.
This increases the size of an uncompressed kernel by less than 1 KB.

Some targets select HZ=100, others HZ=250. There's no reason to select a higher
timer frequency (and 100 Hz are available in every architecture), so change all
targets to 100 Hz.

So far, board.d files were having execute bit set and contained a
shebang. However, they are just sourced in board_detect, with an
apparantly unnecessary check for execute permission beforehand.
Replace this check by one for existance and make the board.d files
"normal" files, as would be expected in /etc anyway.
Note:
This removes an apparantly unused '#!/bin/sh /etc/rc.common' in
target/linux/bcm47xx/base-files/etc/board.d/01_network

We so far had two variables IMG_PREFIX and IMAGE_PREFIX with
different content. Since these names are obviously quite
confusing, this patch renames the latter to DEVICE_IMG_PREFIX,
as it's a device-dependent variable, while IMG_PREFIX is only
(sub)target-dependent.
For consistency, also rename IMAGE_NAME to DEVICE_IMG_NAME, as
that's a device-dependent variable as well.

vconfig is no more installed by default to a firmware image. So, replace
vconfig calls for VLAN subinterface configuration by coresponding
ip-link commands.
Also drop few useless comments from the preinit hook script, while we
are at it.
I have no chance to test this fix since I have no board with a subject
switch IC, but this is still better then call an utility that is
unavailable in the firmware for years.

AR2315 Ethernet driver pass NULL instead of a real device pointer to DMA
(un-)map calls. With kernel version 5.4 such behaviour causes a kernel
panic. Fix this issue by preserving device pointer during the probe
procedure and pass it to each skb data DMA (un-)map call.

Discussion on the mailing list reveals that this target has active
users. As we are finally able to upgrade this target to kernel 5.4,
add it back to master.

immediately moves the relevant files to 5.4, without touching

This target still only works with kernel 4.14, and not so recent
attempts of getting newer kernel versions supported did not lead
to success. Therefore, drop the target, as we are already two
LTS kernel versions ahead and it does not seem like anybody will
pick up the work.

This adds the newly introduced BROKEN flag to a bunch of devices
that previously just had TARGET_DEVICES commented out. By this, we
can select them in make menuconfig when BROKEN developer config option
is selected, instead of having to edit the code.
In contrast to DEFAULT := n, this is meant to cover devices that
don't boot or don't compile at all.

This drops the shebang from all target files for /lib and
/etc/uci-defaults folders, as these are sourced and the shebang
is useless.
While at it, fix the executable flag on a few of these files.
This does not touch ar71xx, as this target is just used for
backporting now and applying cosmetic changes would just complicate
things.

send corresponding changes for the review and anyone from the commiters
is allowed to merge them or eventually use the hand break and NACK them.

Drop the own PHY polling function and switch to using the kernel PHY
state machine. This change allows driver to work correctly with devices
that do not support PHY behaviour but whose driver could emulate
autonegotiation completion (e.g. MV88E6060 and IP17xx switches).
NB: earlier this driver rely on flaws in PHY core code and could use PHY
device without really starting it. But now (at least in kernel 4.9)
this trick no more work and network interface could stuck in not-running
state.

Few tiny fixes for issues caused by changes in the upstream:
- do not touch PHY IRQ array (core code initializes it itself now)
- add missed SET_NETDEV_DEV() invocation (causes segfault during phy
connection)
- use phy API inside the MDIO probe function instead of direct field
access (consider phy structure changes in upstream and prevent
similar issues in the future)
