* at91: drop /etc/config/firewallPaul Spooren2022-01-151-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The file can't be part of base files or the base-files and firewall packages collide. Two packages must not provide the same config files without having a defined CONFLICT since it would result in an undeterministic config state depending on what package is installed last. * at91: kernel: bump to 5.10Claudiu Beznea2021-10-2414-779/+109
| | | | | | | | | | | | Bump at91 targets to kernel v5.10. With this patches and files for wb45n and wb50n were removed as they are now included in upstream kernel. Along with: - this the kernel config for sama5d2 and sam9x targets has been refreshed (with make kernel_menuconfig + save); - CONFIG_ARCH_AT91 and specific sam9x SoCs (AT91RM9200, AT91SAM9, SAM9X60) has been enabled such that sam9x SoCs to be able to boot. Signed-off-by: Claudiu Beznea <claudiu.beznea@microchip.com>
* kernel: move some drm symbols to generic configTomasz Maciej Nowak2021-06-131-1/+0
| | | | | | These are architecture independent, so move them to generic config. Signed-off-by: Tomasz Maciej Nowak <tmn505@gmail.com>
* treewide: switch the timer frequency to 100 HzRui Salvaterra2021-04-212-4/+0
| | | | | | | | Some targets select HZ=100, others HZ=250. There's no reason to select a higher timer frequency (and 100 Hz are available in every architecture), so change all targets to 100 Hz. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* treewide: remove redundant ubifs kconfig symbolsRui Salvaterra2021-04-211-4/+0
| | | | | | | For the targets which enable ubifs, these symbols are already part of the generic kconfigs. Drop them from the target kconfigs. Signed-off-by: Rui Salvaterra <rsalvaterra@gmail.com>
* treewide: make AddDepends/usb-serial selectiveAdrian Schmutzler2021-03-061-2/+2
| | | | | | | Make packages depending on usb-serial selective, so we do not have to add kmod-usb-serial manually for every device. Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* treewide: remove execute bit and shebang from board.d filesAdrian Schmutzler2021-03-061-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So far, board.d files were having execute bit set and contained a shebang. However, they are just sourced in board_detect, with an apparantly unnecessary check for execute permission beforehand. Replace this check by one for existance and make the board.d files "normal" files, as would be expected in /etc anyway. Note: This removes an apparantly unused '#!/bin/sh /etc/rc.common' in target/linux/bcm47xx/base-files/etc/board.d/01_network Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>

* treewide: provide global default for SUPPORTED_DEVICESAdrian Schmutzler2021-01-231-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The majority of our targets provide a default value for the variable SUPPORTED_DEVICES, which is used in images to check against the compatible on a running device: SUPPORTED_DEVICES := $(subst _,$(comma),$(1)) At the moment, this is implemented in the Device/Default block of the individual targets or even subtargets. However, since we standardized device names and compatible in the recent past, almost all targets are following the same scheme now: device/image name: vendor_model compatible: vendor,model The equal redundant definitions are a symptom of this process. Consequently, this patch moves the definition to image.mk making it a global default. For the few targets not using the scheme above, SUPPORTED_DEVICES will be defined to a different value in Device/Default anyway, overwriting the default. In other words: This change is supposed to be cosmetic. This can be used as a global measure to get the current compatible with: $(firstword $(SUPPORTED_DEVICES)) (Though this is not precisely an achievement of this commit.) * treewide: do not disable LED triggers in target configSungbo Eo2021-01-151-1/+0
| | | | | | | Those targets have already enabled some other LED triggers, so enabling a few more won't be a big problem. Signed-off-by: Sungbo Eo <mans0n@gorani.run>
* kernel: enable CONFIG_LEDS_TRIGGER_HEARTBEATSungbo Eo2021-01-151-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The heartbeat trigger is used by luci-mod-system, which is installed as a part of the standard luci package set. It seems the LED trigger will be required quite often, so let's enable it by default. This increases uncompressed kernel size by about 100 bytes on ath79/generic. * at91: explicitly set CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT for sam9x subtargetAdrian Schmutzler2020-08-271-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The at91 target sets FEATURES:=usb usbgadget ... in the target Makefile, which sets CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT=y in the .config file for both subtargets. However, when building with all kmods, the build fails with the following error message: ERROR: module [...]/drivers/bluetooth/btusb.ko is missing. It appears that only a part of the bluetooth files are compiled. The package depends @USB_SUPPORT. This can be easily healed by adding CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT=y to the sam9x subtarget configuration. Before the 4.14->5.4 bump, the same was also set in the target's config-4.14 file along with several other USB config options that are not reimplemented. Still, it remains a mystery to me why setting the same symbol via target kernel config creates a different result than the feature setting the same symbol in target-metadata.pl. * at91: introduce vendor_model scheme and drop board namesAdrian Schmutzler2020-08-257-194/+117
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This introduces the vendor_model scheme to this target in order to harmonize device names within the target and with the rest of OpenWrt. In addition, custom board names are dropped in favor of the generic script which takes the compatible. Use the SUPPORTED_DEVICES variable to store the compatible where it deviates from the device name, so we can use it in build recipes. While at it, harmonize a few indents as well. * treewide: use DEFAULT := n to disable non-broken devicesPetr Štetiar2020-07-301-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This uses DEFAULT := n on a bunch of devices that previously were "disabled" by commenting out TARGET_DEVICES. This will allow to build them without having to modify the code, but they will not be selected for default build or buildbots. The change is applied to all devices that are not "broken", but suffer from image site limitations or similar, or have been added in the past but never confirmed to run on the device properly: at91: at91-q5xr5: kernel image too big 31aeae077482 ("at91: do not build image for at91-q5xr5") bcm47xx: asus-rt-ac66u: disabled since it was added in 2015 69aefc771fd8 ("brcm47xx: build images for Asus devices") bcm47xx: netgear-wndr3400-vcna, netgear-wnr3500u, netgear-wnr3500-v2-vc added disabled in 2012, but never confirmed to work on devices 5dec9dd3b200 ("brcm47xx: add code to generate images for some netgear devices") bcm53xx: netgear-r8500 added disabled: "start working on Netgear R8500" 3b76c7cf0bdd ("bcm53xx: start working on Netgear R8500") Signed-off-by: Petr Štetiar <ynezz@true.cz> [limit to subset of devices, adjust commit message/title] Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* treewide: drop shebang from non-executable target filesAdrian Schmutzler2020-06-162-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This drops the shebang from all target files for /lib and /etc/uci-defaults folders, as these are sourced and the shebang is useless. While at it, fix the executable flag on a few of these files. This does not touch ar71xx, as this target is just used for backporting now and applying cosmetic changes would just complicate things. Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* treewide: simplify inclusion of subtarget image filesAdrian Schmutzler2020-06-111-6/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many target use a repetitive if-include scheme for their subtarget image files, though their names are consistent with the subtarget names. This patch removes these redundant conditions and just uses the variable for the include where the target setup allows it. For sunxi, this includes a trivial rename of the subtarget image Makefiles. Signed-off-by: Adrian Schmutzler <freifunk@adrianschmutzler.de>
* treewide: remove maintainer variable from targetsPetr Štetiar2020-03-161-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | There is no such role as target maintainer anymore, one should always send corresponding changes for the review and anyone from the commiters is allowed to merge them or eventually use the hand break and NACK them. Lets make it clear, that it is solely a community doing the maintenance tasks.
